So yea, it's a browser-based Java game where the world consists of cubes.
It's in alpha stage with currently with the only gamemode being sandbox. It will eventually have a survival (amongst others) mode.
At its current stage, you create and destroy various blocks in either a single- or multiplayer environment. It's got rudimentary physics, which means that sand and gravel blocks fall straight down and liquid cubes (water & lava) spreads by duplicating itself to an adjacent spot next to and below itself.
The multiplayer servers are hosted by other players or dedicated machines using the server files. Playing the full game is free until it gets done. At the moment, you can pre-purchase the full game (which will include more gamemodes, zombies, and more!). As a perk for pre-purchasing and supporting the lone developer, you're given the ability to modify your character and upload a custom skin.

And guys.. come on.. You build blocks. There's a huge limit to what you can do. What do you spend your time on in Minecraft? Making statues and houses? XD

Watch this series from the beginning. That guy is also new to the game when he starts playing and he's a great talker.
This vid is him showing off what he has built half way through the series, its really nice. You start off with nothing.

I have played TONS of hours into the Alpha survival, sadly i were so "Unlucky" to get a winter themed map so i barely have any range of sight... ;_;
Can't wait till biomes are added...

I got winter aswell. Is that bad?
Can't you just toggle fog?
Also, what is Biomes?

My Minecraft is playing up. I tried to reinstall Java, but now Java won't reinstall.
It just gets to a certain stage then exits itself.

Just wanted to say i just stopped playing minecraft after playing it for around 8-9 hours straight.

Different climates.
Like in one area there's snow, in another there's sunny or rainy etc.

Oh okay. I play mine with the furthest render distance, and I still have 150+ FPS.
(Even though my monitor doesn't do more than 60Hz.. But still!)Isn't that extremely annoying when you have to navigate back to your hideout?

I assume it's ok if I bring a few friends to the server? Just until we get our own. They won't destroy any anthing already built. And will respect what you have built =P
