So yea, it's a browser-based Java game where the world consists of cubes.
It's in alpha stage with currently with the only gamemode being sandbox. It will eventually have a survival (amongst others) mode.
At its current stage, you create and destroy various blocks in either a single- or multiplayer environment. It's got rudimentary physics, which means that sand and gravel blocks fall straight down and liquid cubes (water & lava) spreads by duplicating itself to an adjacent spot next to and below itself.
The multiplayer servers are hosted by other players or dedicated machines using the server files. Playing the full game is free until it gets done. At the moment, you can pre-purchase the full game (which will include more gamemodes, zombies, and more!). As a perk for pre-purchasing and supporting the lone developer, you're given the ability to modify your character and upload a custom skin.
In Minecraft, you can turn this:

Despite its flaws, it's a fun way to spend some time.

Who moved the spawn?
I don't know... But I definitely started to play singleplayer instead of this Spawn-moving thing to the middle of nowhere and that you can't build anything, for some reason, isn't exactly what I am looking for in Minecraft...

The spawn is fixed now

I've stopped playing Minecraft really. I liked it when there were no bad guys or you couldn't get injured. I was into Minecraft for the building.

Go to settings, change difficulty to peaceful.
This works on Single player, and what it does is that it stops all monsters from spawning (apart from sheep pigs etc) and when you get damaged your health regenerates.
(Just in case you didn't know)

Servers still have the properties file, where you can just turn monsters and health off.
But that's for everyone.

I know that's not the case with multiplayer, but I did say in single player.
As I highlighted it above in pink.

If you don't have Minecraft yet, and if you want it, you should buy it before the 20th of December
After said date it'll be bumped up to 15 Euros (beta).

And from what i understood you won't get all newer updates for free after the main release.

I think you would, if you delete the main java file it should auto-download the newest version.
