Homophobia on Aprilon Dynasty

So I've been enjoying playing on the Badwater/Goldrush server for a few weeks now, but today encountered the first instance of bigotry I've experienced there. I just wondered what the Aprilon stance was on that kind of behaviour.
Personally I think I should be able to do anything in life - whether it's as serious an endeavour as finding a job, or as trivial as playing a multiplayer video game - without being subjected to prejudice, discrimination and, specifically in my case, homophobic abuse. So when two players in particular - Darkviper and kazsymonds - took it upon themselves to criticise me for being gay (calling me a fag, telling me I was gay by choice and to expect people not to like it, suggesting that I should stop fucking men and start using my penis properly, ie on women) I was, uh, pretty taken aback. If any admin want to check the text logs, this occurred between 20:00 and 20:30 London time on 07 February 2010.
Needless to say I was the only one putting up any kind of resistance to this pair of idiots, while others began to get pissed off that I was taking their homophobia too seriously - 'it's only a game' etc etc - but homophobic abuse is a serious issue regardless of where it's encountered, and I certainly don't intend to tolerate it online. It was unfortunate that no one else on the server at the time felt inclined to speak up.
So hopefully someone will give me an idea of what the Aprilon stance is on homophobia, racism and any other type of discrimination being peddled on its servers. Is it something that's stamped out? Tolerated with a shrug? Encouraged?

I never said i wasn't immature, childish, even downright stupid. I am being accused of homophobia, an allegation that isn't true.
Should probably have quoted bananas post there...

Mega post of ghastly militant homo ramblings coming up.
I read kazsymonds' reply to my last post and didn't bother responding again, partly because I realised it was pointless, and partly because from the way he writes I was getting the unnerving impression that I was arguing with someone who was very young and it was silly for me to expect thoughtful, considered responses from him.
These two guys directed homophobic insults at me over the course of fifteen, twenty minutes - that's irrefutable. Whether they meant it, or whether they were saying it just to wind me up, is debatable, I suppose. I don't think the latter possibility is excusable just because it took place on the internet. Many people think it is, for some reason - because the internet 'isn't real' or something ridiculous. Many people think it's only really acceptable to get pissed off at homophobia if it consists of having homophobic thugs kick the shit out of you, or your boss calling you a faggot the moment before he sacks you, and that any homo who objects to much more minor instances of homophobia is simply whining. Which is unfortunate, but then gay rights are rarely at the very top of straight people's agenda. All the more reason for homos to shout louder.
In response to Aya -
When it comes to homophobia, gay people are more important than straight people. Sorry if you don't agree. I don't know if you're part of a persecuted minority group yourself, but if you are, you'll understand that years of prejudice and irrational hatred tend to affect you deeply, in my case deeply enough to want to eradicate homophobia, or the acceptability of homophobia, from society. There are many straight people who would prefer militant homos like me to be a little less sensitive - to stop behaving like such victims - and just be a bit more relaxed! And likeable! And able to take a joke! I don't think that's the appropriate response to bigotry, myself. And it's not the way to achieve real social progress.
Not really feeling your comparison of religion and homosexuality, either - religion being a collection of ideas according to which a person chooses to live their life, and homosexuality being a physical condition that cannot be chosen or changed. But whatever.
Kazsymonds tells me I give gay people a bad name: first of all, gay people don't have to live by straight people's standards, or live up to straight people's expectations, and second, I shouldn't be expected to represent all homos with my opinions and behaviour. We're not a hive mind. Making straight people like me is hardly a priority of mine. Making sure they understand that anything they say or do in relation to homosexuality is under the constant scrutiny and judgement of gay people - is my priority.

fio, you want to make things like this a problem. You gave the example of people using the word queer or faggot in a supermarket, okay fine. But who in their right mind then starts asking these total strangers to explain themselves, just because YOU are gay?
Being gay is fine, nobody here has any problems with that. But you should really understand, and this goes for overly religious people too, being gay/religious does not give you MORE rights than others. Total strangers (in this case kaz is also a total stranger to you, or was) do not have to answer to YOU. You are a nobody, just like everyone else. Being gay doesn't change that.

Not once did I discriminate you! So that is BS.
We was having a bit of banter like we do on Aprilon, you just took it too far. I couldn't care less if you're gay to be honest?
I always thought gay people have a laugh and a bit of banter, but obviously not you.
So i'll leave it there, and end it.
Darkviper.

The way you behave in the server is really thoughtful and considered is it?
"homophobic little cunt", which part of that was thoughtful and considered? As soon as you said that you were mocked, we went for the jugular, and can you really blame us?
This is seriously all on you dude, you alienate people from you just by talking to them.
Again, I don't care about the fact that you are gay, you just disgust me, and i'm going to say it again IT'S NOT BECAUSE YOU ARE GAY.
You are one of the most repulsive people I have met on the internet. To say that I post like someone that is young is laughable coming from someone who started a juvenile slanging match and everyone in the server responded by hurling the abuse straight back at him in a juvenile fashion, and then you come on here and cry to the forum that you have been abused!
I'm still laughing at the rest of your post.
As said, I get on with all the players, the '-=Rally=-' guys, DB, Yeo, QB, too many to mention.
Honestly, I think the server is a better place without you, so it's no skin off my nose if you never play there again.

Fio, I'm not really against you. I wasn't even present when all this took place. The only thing I want to say is, I personally know people who aren't exactly homophobic, but have a certain 'dislike' if that's what you want to call it, for gay people. As in, gay people in general. This can of course change once they get to know a gay person that they do like.
The reason plenty of people don't communicate well, or don't want to get along with gay people is because they feel, and I can relate to this, that quite a percentage of gay people want to make a very big deal out of being gay. They want to 'show off' them being gay. They want to be seen as special. They wanted to be treated different, maybe? Of course I'm generalizing here, but still, many gay people parade around like this, looking for attention, taking every opportunity they get to get all dramatic and upset whenever someone is using a derogatory term for 'gay'.
I can definitely agree that homophobia is an awful thing, just like any other case of discrimination. The point I'm trying to make is, maybe you shouldn't be so militant about it, even though you have deep feelings about it, and that it can be extremely depressing and frustrating. Maybe you, and other gay people with you, should TRY not to make a huge deal about it. I know for a fact, that if you guys get all upset and dramatic about it, maybe even exaggerate it at times, that a lot of straight people will simply get annoyed with you - which in turn will NOT help your cause.
I'm sorry if some sentences or whatnot sound silly, english isn't my mother tongue, so I can't word everything exactly the way I want it to.

I find attitudes that represent the whole idea of trying to convince people that your idea of the world is perfect, your opinions are supreme and people should listen to you when it comes to the given subject distasteful. I don't think you can eradicate any discrimination by ramming statements of how bad or good it is down people's throats.
The best way of eradicating things such as homophobia, racism, religious and anti-religious bigotry is simply to not give a shit in either way. Once people stop making a fuss about something, it'll be ignored. Though, only time will tell when that happens. I don't give a shit whomever anyone has sex with as long as I don't need to give a shit about it.
But I digress. Adjectives such as "faggy" and "gay" used in the sense of "lame" and "dumb" is something an attitude "hey YOU stop being a homophobe" won't cure. Even though the origin of those terms is mildly homophobic, it's not as if people using them always mean them as an insult towards gay people. Sure, they might be as offensive as the nonsensical "niggerish" or "jew-y", but then again those don't make any sense anymore because racism has been a taboo for a long time.

To be honest. All I see this as is two guys pissing about in chat, and somehow you managed to convert it into being directed at you just so you can make a big deal over it. Why can't it just be left at that? It's a public server, now play nicely!
