I use an internet mouse, really basic that came with my computer, would getting a gaming mouse improve my performance or not make a difference?

The G5 is a good mouse indeed.

I just got the steelseries QCK for $10, now I just need a better mouse.
Between these:
G9 Laser mouse $44
Logitech - G500 $46
Logitech - MX 518 $44
Razer - DeathAdder 3500 $60

Get a Razer.

Yep, pick either the razer or the G9, I think they are both good gaming mice. I wouldn't go for the other two. They are nice, but not better imo

I think I'm going to go for the G500 (new version of G5), the G9 is a bit oddly shaped, I prefer palm grip rather than claw.

Best mouse ive been using in 10 years of internet gaming is Logitech MX518. From CS 1.6 beta to TF2, been the best. Bought a new one few months ago, got Roccat Sense mat with it.
