A very good choice.

Canon are booming at the moment, their ranges are getting better and there are some great cameras around.

Nice one pal how much did you end up paying for it?

Thanks. Took a bit of looking around, but it ended up with that one (Canon EOS 1000D, or the brother 450D (Which is better, but too expensive for my skill).

I paid 3500DKK for the camera, an EFS 18-55mm objective, 8GB memory card and a bag. =]
3500 Danish kroner = 470.324839 €

I love it. I have been taking pictures of everything in the house, and a little outside. I need to get out and take more vibrant pictures. Too bad the weather out here is utterly poop. :(

awesome, I've wanted to get a nice dslr for a while, but they are really expensive. They cost as much as a computer for a decent one. If there is ever a really good one for $300-$350 I'll get it right away, but that won't be any time soon.

That's my camera (sony t700), it takes pretty bad pictures despite its $400 pricetag :-( .

I'm probably going to get a flip ultra hd camcorder so I can start making HD films :quagmire:

I wanted that so bad. ;_; But it's like 300€ more, than a 1000D.

I already have a Nikon D40 DSLR, cost me about £320 when I first got it. Has lasted me a good 2 and a bit years. But I'm need of either a new autofocus lens or a lens repair.

Awesome camera for its age and a very nice buy for £320 :)

It's gone down in price since it's initial release which was like a few months before I bought it. I've studied A level photography in college which was a sub unit of a Multimedia course, though I dropped out because the coursework was too much. So I know the basic principles from that. It's very good for an entry level SLR camera. The controls and the user interface are very user friendly and intuitive. It's very good at making amatuerish shots look very professional. Saying that I do like to fiddle around with the aperture (science) and shutter speed settings.

Really is. :) It was actually one of the cameras I thought about buying.

I have an old Canon dslr (really old). Is the lens compatible with the newer models because I'd like to buy only the body and save some money.
Dec 14, 2009, 11:01 PM#19
Depends how old, what model is it?

Maybe 8-10 years old, it was my Dad's old camera
