Custom Gmod map?

why can't we make a custom Gmod server map like some servers got?
flatgrass gets boring with time ;)
and it needs water for boats or awesome coasters :)

I was planning to run a snowy map through December but I found out that it had leaks which would cause crashes :\

That map had the most awesome snow effects though :)

I was trying to create a snowy version of gm_flatgrass, it sort of worked, except it wouldn't use my snow texture for the ground :(

i was talking about a CUSTOM Aprilon Dynasty map :quagmire:
it'd be good since ppl had to come on the server if they wanted to try the map then :)
also it'd be funnier with a custom map since it'd be completely new to all wich would possibly give more players :quagmire:
also.. it'd need a giant flat area like flatgrass
but also some buildings like construct
and also some water
like hugeflatconstruct but not that laggy and customly made :quagmire:

Awesome :D, but the snow is pretty bright and would irritate me after a while.

I was thinking to make a custom map to Aprilon Dynasty 2-3 months ago, but, making a map just big as gm_flatgrass is really hard to make.

Would be cool. Could have some train tracks, some roads, some buildings, and loads of free space also :)

I agree with all of these ideas. Our new map needs to have:
-About a quarter of the map is water.
-Big free space in the center.
-Tunnels for vehicles and such.
-Admin Room.(Anti Noclip for non admins? dunno if that is possible to put in a map..)
-Some Buildings.
-A small area of the map with snow? Idk...

or less? :) We're talking about a great deal of calculations for the physics here. We can't know if water in general could significantly decrease the value of player latency.

This is completely unnecessary. And on top of that, it'll only contribute to a bigger filesize of the map. We want to keep it low for the convenience of the player - they want short download time.

If this is a map that'll be used at mostly all times, snow wouldn't be a good idea. It'd save the mapper (potentially Jamza? :)) some time here.

I was implying that the winter theme doesn't fit in the summer times.

i love making maps, you were talking about making a map like flatgrass, thats just a simple square, you wanted water, no problem, admin room that is hidden? no problem, its just squares and skybox, i could jump onto doing it, just leave a msg should i or pm i don't know

you can check your leeks in map- > load pointfile..
if the file exists, it will exist if the map leeks then it will point you to your leek

I've had past experience with mapping, like back to when the original Half-Life was all the hype. I know how to avoid making leaks and how to avoid (forgotten the term) the bad stuff that happens when having 2 brushes making contact.
