Going to build a new computer? I would suggest starting with motherboard first.

Well, first, you need to find out your socket type.

Google your motherboard to find out.

Well, if you are willing to stretch to €200 you could get an Intel Core i7 860 Lynnfield Quad Core 2.80GHz (1156 Socket). Obviously it depends on your Mobo whether or not you can use this one.

I really recommend the Core i7 range, I have one and several of my friends have them and they are just a really good range.

We can't help you if we don't know what your mobo is.

But heck, just get an i7 980X.

Want an CPU with good price/performance? Choose AMD
Want an CPU that could possible devide by zero and end end all live in this universe as we know it with its awesomenes? Choose Intel i7 :v

As mentioned we need to know the motherboard make and model before we can suggest a processor, but you should already know that if you're planning on attempting a CPU upgrade yourself :)

I can totally vouch for the Intel i7 aswell! They kick ass!
You can get really cheap x58 motherboards now, so you could considder one of those if you have a spare buck or two.
