It's gone down in price since it's initial release which was like a few months before I bought it. I've studied A level photography in college which was a sub unit of a Multimedia course, though I dropped out because the coursework was too much. So I know the basic principles from that. It's very good for an entry level SLR camera. The controls and the user interface are very user friendly and intuitive. It's very good at making amatuerish shots look very professional. Saying that I do like to fiddle around with the aperture (science) and shutter speed settings.

I have an old Canon dslr (really old). Is the lens compatible with the newer models because I'd like to buy only the body and save some money.

I've had a Nikon D50 for a long time now... while it's pretty good it's not the best there is, as it's one of the earlier models.

Just got a replacement Nikon Nikkor DX lens for my D40, wasn't exactly cheap either - but hey I had extra money to play with this month. At least I know I've got a working auto focus again.

I can costumize the HD version, you just need to know the secret...
