Hey there, these are all my builds I never used schematics for these, they all popped out of my brains
I appreciate critisism, so that I can get better... I know none of them are perfect!

Current project

Currently I am working on a mansion. I've already finished the floor / walls, and I'm now working mostly on the outside, but I've finished some rooms on the inside aswell.

I've been practicing my mansion/house building skills.
I just finished this today, took me about 3 hours.
I'm using the VoxelBox texture pack if anybody's wondering, since it gives me quite a few more blocks to work with, and I think it does look quite neat.
Any critisism is most welcome, I was trying to make this as realistic as possible yet simple but unique in its own way.

So this was originally supposed to be a town hall, but I ended up changing it into a mall.
I know it's nothing special, and that the sides/backside/top of the roof is pretty damn ugly, but it was my intention that you would only see the front side of the building.

Another attempt at a shop, I was actually thinking of rebuilding this on Aprilon, perhaps I should consider building it above ground level though...

So this was my attempt at making some sort of cathedral...
I'm not sure how it turned out, I'm not really that happy about the front, and the sides needs some work aswell I think.
Perhaps some day I'll pull myself together and get it done
- I think I'll try and build a cathedral in the same size on Aprilon, perhaps a bit different themed with more colours

I guess I will be updating this thread with more builds in the future, I'm currently working on another mansion, hoping for it to turn out even nicer

I certainly wish I was as good a builder as you, though I don't agree with the general aesthetic design (they look sort of ugly) in some of them.

As for criticism: The reactor appears to be better looking outside than inside. The Cathedral has a bit to many windows.

I also know for a fact that I have seen an almost exact design to your [http://imgur.com/a/rPO0D] on the Official MineCraft Fourms somewhere in early 2011. Only big difference is the texture pack, but I know I've seen it before elsewhere.

My point is to share my work looking for new inspiration, and ideas coming from the community.
I agree with you that the reactor does look better on the outside, but I think the number of windows is fine as long as I can manage to add something extra to them.

Oh and no need to accuse me of stealing, tens of thousands of buildings are made every day in Minecraft, of course some will look the same.
Fact is; I NEVER copied any of this work, surely I got inspiration of other buildings, but the mall there was built in a day where I build purely from free hand I didn't seek any extra inspiration for that building. Can't say that there's no building like this one, I can only say that I didn't copy it from anything I have seen.

I believe you, it just struck me as odd that they were so alike. Now if only the server had a mod for colored glass.

I think they all look good. A few things struck me though, and I thought I would share them with you. (Keep in mind that this isn't supposed to be a lecture, as I suck at making pretty things in mc. :p )
I agree to the part about the powerplants, but I think they should be bigger. I also think it would better if the smoke was drifting more, like it is in the top and less pillar like.
I must admit to thinking, that the glass-to-wall ratio is a bit off, too in the cathedral, though I think it looks great none the less. I just think it would look more like a cathedral if it had fewer but larger windows, as they are usually built very massive IRL.

If I ever build another powerplant, I shall make it bigger, but I want it to be legit so it will take some time

Aaaand since you're both commenting on the windows in the church, I will try and change them later today, and perhaps add something 3-dimensional to the sides aswell.
