I think AcidWeb runs/ran a minecraft server with the "default" world functioning strictly as a lobby to get to other worlds, like creative and/or SMP aswell as "old-SMP" to reminisce.
Your newspawn could be the lobby world, just need to update a few plugins and build some portals for this to work.
What do you guys think?
