Well, you arn't going to be on skype while we're playing. ;)
And damn, I have to agree with Aya completely once more.. VT/TS/Mumble is the gamer's choice. And yeah, I hate people with no push-to-talk key.. It's so frustrating to listen to.

The main reason I want to use Ventrilo is also due to my own microphone. It has some serious issues apparantly. It's very low, no matter what I do, which is also why I don't speak ingame, because you simply can't hear me on anything else but VT.

But I agree, VT has a little delay, even if everyone's 10-20 ping like on my Ventrilo.

I'd suggest you use either Teamspeak or Ventrilo.
I've used both for quite some years for pretty much everything, and I had no trouble or issues with them.

If you mean the ingame VOIP WTF are you doing with it, works perfectly here and i run skype alongside TF2 because i'm normally talking to casey and i hear him on skype and TF2 and basically the same time, there is no lag.

Ventrilo and Mumble and maybe TS3 are the only options sorry. The rest are just not up to par xD

I vote for ventrilo. I use this program for many years. I don't have any complaints about this program I think.

Well i don't mind having vent or whatever running but i'll be talking over the built in voice because the way i play i don't have any spare keys to use as binds for vent etc so i'll be talking over the TF2 voice because i have that fitting in my bound area :P

It would be as easy as to bind Vent to the same key as you speak ingame. Then we can just mute you ingame.

TBH i still don't see why you need it, voice seems to work great for the game as it is really but whatever i guess its just a pain in the ass having to run an additional app to duplicate functionality in something else i'm already running when it already has acceptable voice

As previously mentioned, I can't use ingame chat. ;) So that's why it sucks. Also, it has poor sound quality compared to other Vent as an example. Well, it's not like you HAVE to be on skype. :P

I wasn't refering to skype i was referring to vent/TS, i personally don't see a real need for it and just because you have a fail mic isn't an excuse buy a real one :P

I use skype because i talk to my brother for hours on end then we happen to play TF2 sometimes

Well.. Technically it isn't the Mic's fault, it some crappy stuff with my computer. Microphone works just fine, but only with certain applications.

On another note, I think that using Ventrilo will have it's advantages, like you can talk while you're dead, as an example, and that we can communicate BEFORE the match starts, not only when we're connected to a server. :)
