Hiya!
Just thought I would post some findings I made with 2 friends of mine.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/39000/
It's a free game called Moonbase Alpha. It's a realistic simulator which encourages up to 6 player coop. It's made by NASA and developed by Virtual Heroes and Army Game Studio.
Basicly the game only got 1 map and 1 mission atm. but NASA said that if the game gets popular, they might add more content, which I bloody hope they will.
The scenario is that you're an astronaut on the moon, driving back to Moonbase Alpha from somewhere, when the moonbase is hit by a meteor. Alot of stuff is damaged or destroyed, and the oxygen-system is failing. You now have 25minutes to fix the problems.
It's controlled like a FPS/3PS, but unlike many other games, this doesn't have any weapons, monsters, or stuff like that. You have different equipment at your disposal, like a rover, which you can transport people and materials on, equipment shed, which houses replacments for destroyed equipment, tools like wrenches, welders, and alot more, and small robots, which can either have an arm, for picking up/using or a welder, for repairing.
You now have to replace hoses, cuplings, satelite dishes, breakers, generators, and a whole lot more, in the given time, which can prove to be difficult unless you cooperate. The amount of damage varies from time to time, and the amount of players present. One astronaut can even use the command module, to remote-drive robots/rovers, and assign orders, to help out.
The game is very realistic, as to movement speed, sounds, light, and the general feel of the game, which I personally think is awesome.
I personally adore this game. Sure, it's not perfect, and only got one level so far, but it's just the kind of game that I would pay for, if alot larger. You have to use your brains and teamwork to solve the problems.
I'd love to play this with any of you, if you feel like it, untill I have gotten sick and tired of the one mission.
