Hey,

I've been looking around for some other donation options.
I was maybe thinking that something like 'Donate by SMS' and/or 'Donate by Phone' would be a nice idea, but I'd rather like to know if anyone have any experience with a company that does this.

I've never had experience with it but I've seen it done. I know a lot of people who buy stuff on the internet such as a runescape membership and their parents don't even notice when it shows up on the monthly statement.

I can comment on the vendors you listed but I think its a great idea and you should give it a shot. Most people will likely pay by paypal or credit card though, aprilon gets a good amount of donations but not a massive amount that you'd need more than a few basic systems.

I've used surfpin before (as in used it to charge people) but they take a massive cut of the total amount (it was £1.00 out of £6.00 when I was using it).

Not sure of any better alternatives! Most people do have Paypal.

But PayPal has to be tied to a credit/debit card or a bank account. Do you dear say everyone has these things rather than most people have cellphones? Surely, If it was £1 out of £6, then the VIP price (GMod for instance) would be £6.

Fair Enough.

Maybe you could just charge more if you pay by cell/phone? That's what I have seen a lot of websites doing!

That was the example I showed in the previous post. The current Garry's Mod VIP package costs £5, if paid by phone it would have to cost £6. It may be unfair for the buyers' point of view, but that's how it'll have to work (assuming that surfpin/another provider takes £1 out of those £6, that'll leave us with £5 which is the GMod VIP price).

Anyway, surfpin haven't e-mailed me back yet about using their service :\

Hmm, using phones sounds like a good idea, especially for someone like me who doesn't really have a credit card and isn't allowed to use a parent's paypal.
I'm sure that £6 insted of £5 will be fine with most people as it's just one pound extra and not really that much.
And Hi Five for Conor, Habbo FTW! :sax:

Bit of an old Topic, but I agree to full extent.
I also bought HabboCredits, and still do!
Hurry for just buying my 24th month of HC!

Anyway, I wouldn't mind if it is six pounds, as it is a one off payment and itll help me to top up more so I can keep getting free texts XD

You get free texts!?

Lies. Vodafone are greedy gits.

Most carriers give you free stuff now when you top up. O2 give me 500 free texts and 200MB of data free when I top up.

Karl. Try and e-Mail them again maybe? Or try one of the other providers

If this does actually become a payment method, I would probs donate 2 quid a month. Not for the TF2 VIP, but just to keep the servers going :P More if need be.
