An arcade, implemented to what? The website or the forums?
Can you give me an example of a forum that has arcade for phpbb3?

I don't like the idea.

From my personal experience, a website is a good way to help draw people in but most people will probably just go straight to the forums if thats the area they want, also getting people to actually use a site is a pain in my experience, all in all if its updated regularly with info etc then it could work so i like the idea

What I was planning to make is a news system where everyone can participate, general news, political or whatever as long as it's interesting. There'll of course be a moderation system for that too, and such. I can imagine a big link that says "To the forums? ->" when they visit the page too.

The website will also have information about the server, check if it's online or offline (I already made a PHP script that checks that).

It could also have sections like downloads and such, I guess that would be nice too.

Server Websites can be good, but they can also be very hollow affairs. In the end the heart of the website would be the Forums.

If it wasn't for the stats I would personally say no, but the with the stats I feel there is due reason to at least have a central link. i.e. website.

Certainly not like their website. It's in flash, I hate flash. When you use flash, you can't even be sure if everyone (now I mean EVERYONE) will be able to view the website without installing the newest version of flash.

I see what you mean karl, anyways I think a website would be a great idea, I'll try to think of some interesting content that would attract people who use aprilon servers and gmod as well as tf2.

Maybe if we offer some guides/tutorials for building stuff in gmod or playing tf2. Also I was thinking about having a monthly top 10 aprilon videos so maybe the top 10 creations in gmod or top 10 plays in TF2 on their respective servers.

Also this website is geared mostly towards talking about aprilon, it would be better if it was better geared towards not only talking about the server but also tf2 and gmod in general. I know this forum offers that type of chat but its just not quite active enough.

Oh and another idea is to have articles on the latest news/updates for gmod and tf2 in a blog like template form for that.

Just a random thought for a layout what if you had like an inventory screen as your layout and you could click the panels to access different areas like the forums etc.

another for: donate like $ sign or something
And at the top right tab it says stats already so you could use that for hlstatsx

etc, etc, onwards and so forth.

That is exactly what I had in mind, I thought of downloads and articles and such (including, but not limited to, latest TF2/GMod updates and so on).

I'll certainly think about your layout ideas, they're crazy, just have to look at the possibilities. I'd rather do the TF2 layout, but I doubt it'll be exactly in the way of the item menu, but though I could pack in the colours and TF2 graphics on the site. I won't look away at the possilibity of having tabs on the website using javascript

good idea, once you have a general vision of what you want to do I say go for it and make the site.

Also, hopefully if you make a website it will encourage more people from our very own aprilon community to use it. For example there are so many people that play on aprilon servers yet very few use the forums unless they want to do something like appeal a ban. I just had a great idea... ban everyone and make them all appeal and use the forums

Also if you need help keeping the news up to date I could possibly help you out by writing about game news/TF2 guides and finding videos to feature etc.
