So, I am on the last part of "Highway 17". I defeated the gunship, turned off bridge access, went back across. I get in my jeep to go across the bridge and the blue thing is still infront of it, and only the first part of the bridge is there. You know the hole on the wall next to the bridge? All it is is a black spraypaint arch. Help?

Heres proof that I did all the shit I needed to do for it to appear:

Spraypainted Wall in place of the hole:

Blue Block STILL THERE after deactivation, also notice how I red circled the fact that the bridge doesnt even go on like its supposed to:

That is very weird I must admit.. I have noooo idea. Did you try doing the Steam content check-thing? Might be your game files that are corrupt.
You can just do like me with the gate. Do a nade-jump over it. :3

It looks like you passed a level, in some way you shouldn't be able to.
I think you somehow bugged the changelevel trigger, so it wouldn't recognize that you've entered a new part. I don't know, but sounds possible to me.
That also explains why the map isn't done, the missing bridge as an example.
I have no idea if I'm right, but just try to go back, far back and force a load of the last part. And when that is done, move back again the right way.
But first of all try what Maniac said. Verify the integrity of your game cache for Halflife 2.

Yeah it didn't load the new map, it might be missing or it might be a bug

AFAIK you can use the "changelevel" console command to switch to your current level, but all weapons + whatever will be reset to default.
But running back to force a re-load would be a good idea.

I will do changelevel, I be lazy and dont want to do it all over xD... Can someone tell me what the map I need to changelevel to is?
Yeah, I think I already have all the weapons at that point (besides bugbait) so I think I can impulse 101 without calling it "cheating".

You could try and noclip to the next loading point.

You could try and noclip to the next loading point.
It's more complicated than that. There has to be a trigger for the next map to load. That trigger is not a specific point.
Jun 24, 2010, 12:45 PM#14
Well.. I thought it was, cause I believe Valve is using the trigger_changelevel which is a brush (area), so it could be a specific point, but maybe that point or area isn't activated.
However, did you try what I told you to do?

Nah, haven't been on hl2 in awhile. The trigger for the next map to be visible is when u press the button(Shown in Picture #1), I think. I will just use changelevel and it should work.

Elf, they way the load is triggered, is by reaching a specific point in the map.
Which is also why you can walk back and fourth through the loading-zone.
(So it loads the next part, and then the previous part)
